iOS 5 beta 1 resetting
Earlier this week, my iPhone 4 running iOS 5 beta 1 “reset” itself. It kept my lock screen wallpaper and passcode but prompted me to set up the iPhone as if it were new once I typed in my passcode. After setting it up, the Apple logo was shown again and the home screen was briefly visible. Then the set up screen saying “slide to set up” was shown again. The setup screen reappeared every time like a loop. Apple probably changed something on their servers during this time or set a time bomb in the first beta. I was out of the country at the time of the problem so my device was reduced to an expensive paper weight. Since returning from Costa Rica yesterday, I’ve downloaded and restored to iOS 5 beta 5.

Interesting behavior on the iOS 5 homescreen’s Notification Center. You can swipe individual notifications to view them.

First impressions of OSX 10.7 Lion
Well, well, well. Lion has finally arrived.
OSX Lion being installed on macs to be shipped
On Sunday, I ordered an iMac to replace my aging white Macbook. I expected that I would have to follow the instructions on Apple’s OSX Up-to-Date page. I configured the 21.5″ iMac with a 2.8 i7 processor. At the time of placing my order, I saw that the delivery date was July 20-22. Thinking it was just that Apple would need more time to put in the i7, I just let it go.
